Our top 5 reasons to visit Belize!

Updated: May 20

Belize is a jewel nestled in Central America with a kaleidoscope of natural wonders, cultural richness, and adventure waiting to be explored. With its pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and the second-largest barrier reef in the world, Belize offers a diverse array of experiences for every traveler.

While there are endless reasons to visit Belize, we’ve narrowed it down to our top 5:

·      1. Belize is English speaking! There are no visas or vaccinations needed to enter this little gem of a country. Just pack your bags and go!

·      2. It has more ruins than houses - this is a common way for locals to describe the abundance of Mayan sites available for exploration. From popular Xunantenich ruins to less visited Lamanai faces, there is plenty of adventure to climb.

·      3. Second largest barrier reef in the world - all snorkelers and divers welcome. Did we mention shark alley?

·      4. The incredible local cuisine! - join local chefs in an outdoor kitchen, make hot sauce or sample your way through the chicken and rice dishes.

·      5. The warm, friendly, laid-back culture - from Creole to Garifuna, the heartheart of Belize is in its people.

Experience the thrill of tubing and enjoy a cool swim in the refreshing waters of a natural pool, formed between cave entrances. Float downstream and relax as you learn about Mayan culture and view stunning cave formations. Hike through the jungle, along the river bank and carry your tube up to the starting point. Float down the river and relax in the first cave, as your expert guide tells you about Mayan culture and their beliefs. Get ready for a thrill in the second cave, accessed by both starting points, where light rapids will add some excitement and speed to your tubing experience.

For those who want to give it a try, end your tour by speeding things up with a memorable zipline, as you ride across the Belize jungles and river from tree to tree.

If time allows, we will also visit the Baboon Sanctuary. The monkeys are completely free but often visit the sanctuary that helps preserve this beautiful species. This Sanctuary is a pioneering project in voluntary grassroots conservation. The goal is to sustain the  habitat of the Black Howler Monkey (called ‘baboon’ in the local Creole dialect). The Black Howler Monkey is the largest monkey in the Americas and is found only in small sections of Central America. Black Howlers have an infamous howl, a deep resonating and raspy cat like roar that can be heard for over a mile. During this tour you will get to see these mammals in their natural habitat and learn more about them as you walk along the nature trails established in the sanctuary.

Then a short flight takes us to the archipelago of Ambergris Caye, and check into your beachfront accommodations.
